Baptism is the first Sacrament and the gateway to all the others. Through it we are freed from sin, become children of God, and are welcomed into the Church.
At St. Charles Lwanga Kamira Parish, Baptisms are usually celebrated on scheduled Sundays after catechetical instruction. Parents and godparents attend a preparation session to understand their duty of raising the child in faith.
Adults preparing for Baptism are guided through the catechumenate (RCIA) until they receive the Sacrament during Easter.
